Not sure how you as a retired staffer feel about answering lore questions/giving your slant, but I just remembered something that I used to think about. I’m not sure when the Base Set for the Neopets TCG was conceived, but one of the cards is Lord Darigan.

Now, some cards have what might be called “misprints” here and there, but the flavor text for this card reads “If there is a source of all evil in Neopia, it isn’t far from Darigan’s heart.” Champs of Meridell, toward the end of 2002, flipped the script on us and was basically like “Darigan’s not a villain, he’s just a little grumpy because he’s trying to get his Orb back.” But this flavor text seems to imply that yes, Darigan is some level of sinister. And because it’s printed in 2003, I’m led to believe this card was written after Champs wrapped up.
And this got me thinking. Is this meant to imply that Lord Darigan isn’t entirely innocent? Because I think it could be possible. Did Meridell steal the Orb? Okay. But where/how did Lord Darigan get the Orb? And why? What is the Orb? Is it a product of some dark magic that Darigan dabbles in? Does he scheme of forbidden dark arts and stuff? Maybe Darigan came by the Orb in some sinister way.
Or even if that’s not confirmed, if I’m Skarl, and there’s a nation that I know deals in dark arts, I’m thinking “It’s only a matter of time before they hurt someone. If they’re dealing in dark arts, they can’t be trusted with any Orb, they should disarm. Meridell can be trusted with the Orb, we have a history of enforcing peace and fighting evil. Also we need it.”
TL;DR: What, if anything, does “A source of all evil in Neopia isn’t far from Darigan’s heart” mean?
Hi. First, thanks for answering questions regarding Neopets even though it’s been like 7 years since you’ve left. I apologize if this has been asked before, but is if there is any reasonable offer that Jumpstart (or any future parent company) can make to get you (or any former staff) to join the Neopets team again?
I’m not dissing the current staff as I think they are doing the best they can, but it will be pretty cool to see some familiar faces back in the site again.
Hello Sarkie! I hope you’re doing well. Do you happen to know why some pet colors were discarted, like the unicorn and lutari (lutari paint brush)? I’ve heard a speculation that the unicorn was discarted due the cration of the Uni, but I would like to know more about that. I’m also curious if you have any comments on the Scrapped pet designs, like the Mutant Aisha (the pink one with “popped” eyes) 😀
Were there any fun locations for the Neopets explore page that was discarded while being planned or before being released.
And uh… do you happen to have any information on Lilac Island? It was one of the old Neopedia articles back in the day along with Roo Island and Kiko Lake. While Kiko Lake and Roo Island eventually became visitable, Lilac Island was unceremoniously deleted and the articles are now lost. Are deleted content kept anywhere or something?
In Neopets Magazine, it says that The Darkest Faerie thought she should be Altador’s sole ruler because she was a long-lived faerie, and the only faerie on the Council. But in the Book of Ages, it says that the whole Council is immortal. Not counting the two other faeries on it. And in The Darkest Faerie video game, it says Jerdana was the one who invited Siyana to the Council. But in the Book of Ages, it says Florin was the one who invited Siyana to the Council.
So what is the truth? Memory spell shenanigans?
There’s an item called “UFFH.” It’s a fish head/fish skeleton released for the Meridell Rubbish Dump.

I’ve been wondering forever what “UFFH” stands for. Are there any who remember? This is a pretty old item.
Hi Snarkie! I was just wondering if you know why we can’t access the petpages of the Lutaris. We only get the messege “Error: Argh, there is no template file!” and there’s no default code on the Edit Pet Page. Did an error occurred during the creation (maybe because they were from the mobile game)?
Hi Snarkie! Amazingly cool wee AMA that you’re running here! Gives me the opportunity to ask a question that has been burning in my brain since I decided to master EFMC and everything about it. This might require you to reach out to a Mr Insane to provide insight, but hopefully the allure of putting to rest a 15 year old curiosity may convince you to do so. Are the red doors on level 6&10 accessible in anyway within the game? Gut feel says that the coders liked messing with people and they can’t be accessed but you never know!
How do you feel about the current exposure that proves UC are easy to create?
Hello

Hey, TNT! I have a question I’ve been wanting to ask: are we allowed to go to the Magma Pool and get a magma Neopet on our side account? I know it’s random at the Lab Ray, but what about going to the pool? Thanks, and here are some cookies! (please leave out my username) ~ username removed
You may not earn the right to visit the Magma Pool on your side accounts, as this would also earn you Neopoints, but you are welcome to visit in hopes of sneaking past the sleeping guard, as there are no Neopoints rewarded for doing so.
We worked on this in the early years, and when old friends come together we still discuss and wonder. Make us at ease, please tell us if we cold have found out
Best regards and thanks
Anna.
